Job Title: Intern
Job Summary: As an Intern you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience and contribute to our mission of addressing homelessness and providing support to individuals and families in need. This internship program offers a valuable learning experience in the human services field, allowing you to work closely with our staff and engage in meaningful projects and activities. We are seeking motivated and dedicated individuals who are passionate about making a difference in their community. This internship will provide you with hands-on experience, professional development opportunities, and a chance to positively impact the lives of others.
Responsibilities:
- Assist staff members in day-to-day program operations, including administrative tasks, program planning, and implementation.
- Conduct intake assessments and interviews with program participants under the supervision of licensed professionals.
- Collaborate with case managers to develop and implement individualized service plans for program participants.
- Provide support and guidance to individuals and families accessing services, addressing their immediate needs, and connecting them with appropriate resources.
- Assist in organizing and facilitating workshops, support groups, or recreational activities for program participants.
- Conduct research and data analysis to support program evaluation and improvement efforts.
- Assist in creating and maintaining documentation, records, and reports related to program activities.
- Contribute to outreach and community engagement efforts to raise awareness about the organization's services.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities as required.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university program in a relevant field (e.g., social work, psychology, human services, counseling, or related disciplines).
- Strong interest in and commitment to the mission and values of Community Creates Community.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassion, empathy, and a non-judgmental attitude towards individuals experiencing homelessness or facing challenging circumstances.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of program participants.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and willingness to learn new software programs.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Flexible and adaptable to the changing needs of the organization.
- Prior volunteer or internship experience in a social service setting is preferred but not required.
